The American Legion is
a wartime veteran’s organization founded in 1919 by
veterans of WWI.
The Legion motto “For
God and Country” defines the primary devotion of all
Legionnaires.
The Legion’s focus is
guided by “Four Pillars” which are: Service to
Veterans, National Security, Americanism and Children
and Youth.
Throughout its history
the American Legion has been a leader in these areas
from the local Post to the state and national level.
Our activities range from standing up for our service
men and women and promoting a strong national defense
to a myriad of programs for families of deployed
troops and the youth of this great nation to local
civic programs.
Though each Legionnaire
has served his country as a Soldier, Sailor, Marine or
Airman his service to his country continues. “Still
Serving America” describes each Legionnaire’s
steadfast support of Veterans, the Boy Scouts, the
flag, community, America and American ideals.
Membership is open to
any member of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps
or Coast Guard who served during time of war and is
currently serving or has been honorably discharged.
The Post meets at 7PM
the second Thursday of the month. (Except January and
February) The current meeting location is Brick City
Bar & Grill in Clermont.
