Those who attended the National Night Out program sponsored by the Clermont Neighborhood Watch were treated not only to good food but to a very good program put on by SODA called “take It Back”. Taking back the joy of your youth was part of the message that was given loud and clear. As adults we are responsible for the majority of youth drinking problems and these problems are shortening or even snuffing out the fun of being young in our community by adding complications that young adults should never have to contend with.

Alcohol is an evil scourge that preys on young minds eating away at their ability to reason, excel in school or even survive.

Just because you did it when you were their age does not make it right or good for them. A large number of kids are alcoholics before the 10th grade and alcohol is the leading common denominator in the vast majority of teen deaths.

If you contribute to the problem, then you are also contributing to their misery and/or death.

When the problem confronts you take a deep breath, be firm and contribute to your child’s healthy lifestyle not his demise.

School starts soon so be sure to adjust your driving habits accordingly
