BACK READS: The Cedar Rapids-Decorah Railroad began in 1873
as the Burlington Cedar Rapids and Minnesota Railroad. It was
changed to the Rock Island in 1902. The Clermont Depot was built
in 1873 with bricks from the Miller Brick Yard and stone from the
Williams Quarry. Operation ceased in 1973. |
