This crock is two-sided featuring the Clermont statue of President Lincoln on one side; on the reverse is the Clermont statue of David B. Henderson, resident of Clermont and  first Speaker of the House to represent a state west of the Mississippi River. (Measures 6" tall, 5" wide at the brim, 3 1/2" wide at the base)  There are no markings on the bottom.  A paper was included from a company called Dart Inc.  Custom Commemoratives.

President Abraham Lincoln

While Governor and Mrs. Larrabee were visiting in Edinburgh, Scotland, they saw a statue of President Lincoln.  The Governor visualized a statue of this magnitude in a park in Clermont.  He contacted the sculptor, George Bissell, and arranged to have a duplicate statue cast for Clermont.  The Clermont statue, which has four Civil War scenes depicted in bas-relief plaques on the base, was dedicated on June 19, 1903, at the reunion of the 12th Iowa Infantry Regiment

David B. Henderson

Governor Larrabee wanted to honor David B. Henderson, who had just retired as Speaker of the United States House of Representatives.  Henderson was the first Speaker of the House to represent a state west of the Mississippi River.  He commissioned J. Massey Rhind to sculpt Henderson’s statue.  It, too, was dedicated at the 12th Regimental Reunion.
