Neighborhood Watch

Clermont Neighborhood Watch has 13 Block Captains and we are always looking for more.

Neighborhood Watch is part of a nationwide program whose purpose is to provide an organized means by which our citizens can work with the police department in reducing crime and providing for a safer community.  Projects have included neighborhood watch signs posted at each entrance into Clermont and town wide informational meetings.

Meeting times vary.  Open to girls K-12.  "Family Style" approach incorporated for daisy, brownie, jr., cadet, and senior levels.  Sponsor "Trick or Treat So Others Can Eat"  with proceeds going to the Fayette County  Food Shelf.

Clermont Activity Club

Meet once a month, usually 3rd Sunday at 7:30 pm in shelter house by ball diamond in summers - in winter at Tridat Inc. Activity Club maintains softball diamond, volley ball courts, tennis courts, and safety lines near the Clermont Dam.  The Activity Club is responsible for the concession stand for High School softball. sponsors yearly trap shoot and food booths.

The Valley Community Coalition (VCC) was established August 2000 with the principle mission being to reduce substance abuse and promote factors to minimize the risk of substance abuse in the Valley. "Valley" is a term that describes our area in northeast Iowa which comprises the towns and surrounding areas of Clermont, Elgin, and Wadena, Iowa.

Women's group sponsors annual Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Party, provides Easter goodies tray to shut-ins, provides activity kits for children in hospitals, provides favors for trays in local hospitals, maintains Lincoln Park, holds "Mother's Supper" in June.  Will be chairing the project of City Park playground equipment.  Treasures and Gifts in the Valley held in November.  Santa's visit in December.  Meets every 2nd Tuesday night of each month.
